Guilt By Association

We live in a hypersensitive society where just using the wrong pronoun for someone may lead a person to be publicly denounced. Never mind that someone may associate with the wrong people, those ideologically impure. It may even come down to the information someone consumes. Watch Fox News? You’re a right-wing, Nazi. MSNBC? A communist, anarchy supporter. The online sites a person may occasionally peruse would also be suspect. We’ve decided, well not all of us, but a vocal number of people, that what you read, who a person may occasionally associate with, is what defines that person.

I Don’t Care About Jussie Smollett

510AA5EC-75BF-48E4-AF32-183FC1FDACA7

Everyone, everywhere, is today discussing the dropping of all charges against alleged hoaxer, Jussie Smollett. It really is something to turn on the television to any of the cable news networks, or to read on Twitter, the reactions to this astonishing (Yes, I heard that used more than once) development. No one can get their. mind around it. some, in fact are now saying (CNN) that maybe the attack did occur and that since none of us were there, we just don’t know. Continue reading

Debunking Charges of Racism

I just watched a recent video by Sarah Braasch where she’s beginning to expand beyond her personal story and discuss the toxicity of the far-left intersectional view and how that although hers may be a high profile story because it made national media, that the entire far-left agenda is based upon tearing lives apart based on the least evidence ever. It’s not as uncommon as many of us may have thought and in the last few years, the numbers of false accusations of racism has almost become an industry for some.

Weaponizing Words

I’m always bothered by the weaponization of words. I can’t recall the last time I heard someone called a racist or a bigot and took the accusation seriously. I’m not saying there aren’t people like that, it’s just that those words have become so overused as an attack, it’s not easy in a lot of caes to determine whether or not the allegation is true or not. Of course one reason is that it’s not possible to disagree with someone on any social subject without a charge coming out of the dialogue. This is precisely what many who are known as Social Justice Warriors do in an attempt to shut down whatever conversation there was.

More Revelations About Catholic Priest Abuse of Children

abuse

I know I said at one time I was going to continue to write about the Catholic Church and the abuses, over decades, of children. I’ve been negligent. It’s not as if in the interim that the church has come out and blamed the victims or that more recently, blamed gay priests for all of the abuses over time.  I found in both of those instances how little, if any media coverage those outrageous statements received in the media. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might tend to believe that media are covering for child abusers.

The Catholic Church Needs to Take Responsibility

pope

When I wrote the post recently, The Devil Made Me Do It, I mentioned that it was based on a tweet I had seen that was about the Pope saying that the problems in the church today are due to Satan attacking it.  I really didn’t want to discuss that at   in that post, just wanted to use it to move forward something we see all the time with the faithful: The devil is always out there making us do things we don’t want to do.

Misogyny a Problem With Atheists?

I would like women in our atheist “community” to respond to this tweet if you would.

Here’s my question: Do you see any evidence of misogyny with your fellow (male) atheists? If so, would you be so kind as to give an example of where men have shown their hate for you?

Wait though! I don’t want to limit this to just men as misogynists as we know that The Usual Suspects claim there are certain women in the “community” that are misogynists as well.

Now, as an exit question, I would ask those women that may identify as misogynists why they hate themselves?
